Handmade Soul at a Modern Craft Fair :: Field + Supply

Sometimes a girl just needs to be surrounded by beautiful things to recharge her batteries. Combine that with sunshine, music and genuine conversation and my creative heart is full.

Now in its 7th year, Field + Supply was created by Brad Ford as a “modern interpretation of a traditional arts and crafts fair”. It was such a joy to experience the pride each and every artist had as they personally shared their creation with those visiting their booth. I would be admiring a piece and then the very maker of that piece would be standing next to me…quietly beaming with pride. What a moment it was for me to be able to complement them face to face. To see their smile. One by one connections were made and heartfelt conversations were exchanged about this powerful gift of a handmade item.

Soul is a cornerstone of my design intention. It can be difficult to deliver it to a home that is not my own. If anything can help me achieve this integral part of an interior it is the very idea of incorporating a hand made item. I just added the most amazing list of sources to my toolbox…arguably my most valuable source list to date.
